It is situated on the top of a hill, at 217 meters, on the right of the valley crossed by the Misa river, all along the Arceviese reaching the sea in Senigallia. The gonfalon of the town represents an oak on a blue field with below a red shield divided by four golden stripes. The origin of Serra de' Conti, between the XII and the XIII centuries is linked to the colonization of the Misa valley of the monks coming from the Benedictine abbey of Santa Croce in Sassoferrato. The first counts governing Serra de' Conti belonged to the political associations of aristocratic families of the Lombard pre-Appenine area under the name of the Empire until when, in 1230, the Municipal Association was created.
