Monsano is 6 Km far from Jesi. Greeks, Piceni, Romans and Byzantines have lived in Monsano before it became part of the Stato Pontificio. In 1200 it became part of Jesi. The town, nowadays, is not only an industrial and commercial pole but is also worth visiting for the characteristic walls of the XV century and for one of the most famous sanctuaries of the province, the church of Santa Maria fuor di Monsano.
